SMU’s Master of Science in Wealth Management (MWM) and Master of IT in Business (MITB) programmes have excelled in the 2025 QS Global Master’s Rankings, compiled annually by Quacquarelli Symonds, a leading higher-education analytics firm.
These rankings provide a rigorous and data-driven assessment of university programmes worldwide, evaluating performance across a range of weighted indicators.
The MWM programme, offered by SMU Lee Kong Chian School of Business (LKCSB), has been ranked 1st in Asia in the 2025 QS Masters in Finance Rankings. Globally, it secured the top spot for Value-for-Money and second place for Thought Leadership.
Professor Bert De Reyck, Dean of SMU’s Lee Kong Chian School of Business, commented, “We are heartened by SMU’s excellent performance in these closely watched rankings, reflecting our commitment to delivering value and thought leadership.”
“This achievement affirms our academic reputation and the tireless efforts of our world-leading faculty members in building strong linkages with industry and in nurturing graduates who hold a distinctive edge in complex and competitive global environments.”

Launched in 2004 as Asia’s first and only full-time master’s programme in wealth management, MWM features a rigorous curriculum designed in consultation with industry professionals and academics.
Anchored by the strength of institutions across Asia, Europe, and the USA, MWM is a recognised postgraduate programme associated with the CFA Institute and Chartered Alternative Investment Analyst Association, embedding a curriculum accredited under local private banking certification standards.
Participants engage with wealth management professionals through extensive learning opportunities, including exposure and immersion in global investing. The programme is regularly reviewed to reflect industry developments, maintaining a careful balance between theory and practice.
The SMU MITB programme also ranked 2nd in Asia and 24th worldwide in the 2025 QS Global Master’s in Business Analytics Rankings. MITB has maintained its top 2 position for the second consecutive year, demonstrating consistent performance despite an increase in the number of evaluated programmes.
Professor Pang Hwee Hwa, Dean of SMU’s School of Computing and Information Systems, stated, "This recognition reaffirms the value delivered by the Master of IT in Business (MITB) programme to our graduates and students.”
“Our consistent performance in the rankings demonstrates the programme’s alignment with industry needs and its focus on equipping students with pragmatic and future-ready skills, in areas like analytics, AI, digital transformation and fintech,” he continued.
